I dont understand by "pushing the two supports" I have my string stuck and I dont want to open it with a vise. Please help asappp!!

The counter is clipped into the top of the ball at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions (a little plastic 'leg' holds it in place at each end).
Simply insert your nail or the blade of a knife under one of these legs and pop it off...
