It depends of the money that you would spend.

You can choose:

Powerball 250 hz Pro (the "Pro" version has a speedometer, I think it is almost necessary) -> The cheapest
Neon Pro -> They are more expensive than the previous powerball ( I donīt like them personally) and they cannot reach so many rpm like the others (reach about 1% - 2% less)
Techno -> Are the ones which less rpm reach and cannot have a speedometer (u read the scores in the surface of the rotor) (Are a little more expensive than other ones)

Metal 350 hz with heavy rotor -> The most expensive, for Itīs price you can buy a triple neon pack (This powerball generates almost 80 lb of torque, and is bigger than the others models, so, If you pick this do not overexercise in the first month until you get used to it)

Hi Loler,

I'd have to disagree with you about the speed of the Techno. I recieved a brand new Techno last week, and with the second run I already achieved 14308 rpm (my top score with a thoroughly-worn-in 250Hz Pro is 14432). I've never been able to do this with a brand new 250Hz Pro...

The score may be more difficult to read, as it requires some practice and skill (which I do not completely possess, yet), and it may be a bit more expensive, but it is defenitely an astounding piece of technology, and just as speedy!

Kind regards,
Dennis

Hi Bulman,

Wel, no, I'm not suggesting you should buy a particular PowerBall. They're all great and highly addictive! Generally, people find the Regular 250Hz Pro PowerBalls are the fastest. I'm just pointing out that it doesn't always hold true. Take for instance Pako, who has a very speedy Neon! Nevertheless, one can expect all the additional electronics and stuff attached to the rotor may generate more air resistance, which will make it minutely slower than the most basic regular 250Hz PowerBalls.

I think you should buy the type that suits you best. Eventually, it'll be too addictive and you'll start to buy more. ;) After several months, you have the wole collection and then, you'll be able to do some proper comparisons. We'll see which is the fastest in your hands. :D

Irrespective of your choice, you won't be disappointed...!

Kind regards,
Dennis

Personally I would recommend a Neon as your first purchase, (though if your heart is set on a Techno then they're great too).

As for the speed issue, the newer Neon models are pretty much as fast as a non-light up one. There are certain spaniards, (a man who is one of the top 5 and a woman who is the best in the world), and they both used Neons to get their records.
