Hi All,

:(

I was doing what sound like a really good run this morning with my Powerball, and then I heard a SNAP! At that instant the counter popped off my Powerball and went flying! The Powerball then rattled around noisely and loosely in its shell until I was able to stop it.

First I looked at the back of the counter, and I saw that the rotor also scrapped against the circuitry on the back of the counter. :(

Here's a picture:

Then I opened up the powerball and discovered that the end of the axle on the rotor snapped off. It must have flow off along with the square to who knows where. The rotor must have left ruts somewhere in the shell because there was colored scrape marks on the rotor.

Here's the rotor picture:

The whole Powerball just exploded at the counter and completely busted on me.

Help!! What do I do now? How do get a replacement?

Always Powerballing,
Duane Cash

Hi dcash10181,

If you purchased your PowerBall from this website, then you'll get a replacement; no problem. You have to e-mail enda@powerballs.com and liz@powerballs.com with a link to this thread. However, as today is Friday, and Enda also likes to have a day off every now and then, I'm afraid you'll have to wait until Monday to get a reply.

Maybe you're too strong for the PowerBalls? ;)

Hope this doesn't ruin your weekend. Kind regards,
Dennis

yes, it appears you made that powerball your bitch. good job! also condolences for your temporary loss, but maybe it'll be a good forced rest for you, and you will come back with 14k easily!

It wouldn't be so easy for me, as I have about 10 powerballs of my own, so if I were to break one, I can just grab the next!

DAY OFF??????

P'ah!

:p

I'm always knocking around somewhere...

Duane, can you please email lorraine@powerballs.com with a link to this thread, and also let her know what is written on the grip-band of your Powerball so we can ensure you get the correct parts.

Check for damage to the sphere halves, and also try turning on the counter to see if it will continue to function.

The rotor axle rarely breaks... usually it is a result of your technique, though they can occasionally break also for no apparent reason.

Regards

Enda

Hi Enda,

I turned the counter on and it turns on but it is malfunctioning. The one's digits is missing parts. My counter has a "3" in the last digit", but a section of the "3" is not there, The sphere halves also look like they took a beating where the track are.

I emailed you just a while ago too. Thanks!

Enda,

Here's a picture of the counter display that is malfuntioning. I'm not sure what other malfunctions it has now besides this, but this one thing I have noticed.

In all, it appears that every part was effected once the axle broke. Except for the rubber band around the case.

Enda,

I turned on the counter for my broken Powerball, hoping that may have recovered with some time, but it looks like it got worse. :(

Here's picture of the counter display:

When that axle broke, it took everything else with it. Hope it all gets sorted out soon.

That's quite an accident. I've heard and seen videos of rotors breaking, but never with quite such devastation. Shame you don't have that video camera already!

Adrena!in,

It was actually quite a sight when it broke. The counter flying off, the loud SNAP! My wife heard the snap from across the house wondered what had happened! She had to come over and check it out.

Too bad it never registered a speed on the counter. It sounded really fast!
