Hey everyone...
I tried searching for this but 'best technique' gives like 100 useless threads so apologies on that part...

Anyway i have never actually know what the best position or technique is to use when you are going for a record so to speak. I used to curl my arm with the open gyro facing to the side of my body. I then used a straight arm pointing down and it increased by a few hundred? Is there a better way then? Also I need help with my score:( Ive had to for 3 weeks now and i can easily get it to 11k or so, but i cant seen to go any faster yet i can hold that speed for around a minute and feel comfortable? Oh well thanx every1:D you guys rule lol

I guess it's different for each person. I personally bend almost all the way down and my right arm goes behind my right knee. I know it seems weird and it's a bit hard to describe, but that's just me.

It's different for each person, just try different things and you will figure out what feels most comfortable for you.

Plus different grips can drastically affect your score, try different ones and again you will find whats best for you.

and what are the different types of grips?

Well, there are pretty much an infinite number of different grips. There are loads of different ways to hold it really. It's whatever's more comfortable for you really.

I started with the counter pretty much pressed into my palm, holding the Powerball a bit like I'd hold a ball prior to throwing it...mainly with my thumb, forefinger and middle finger giving the grip, and my ring finger down the side...little finger sometimes not even touching the Powerball, pr just resting gently on the rubber grip band. I would spin my right wrist clockwise. I would have my palm pointing left with my hand to the right of and infront of my right thigh.

Since I've started spinning my right wrist anti-clockwise, the counter has moved more flat against my palm, with all my fingers wrapped around the Powerball, and I find my hand tends to move behind and to the right of my thigh, and my shoulder leans forward a bit. Don't know why, that's just the way it seems to go.

Whatever, there is no correct technique. Look how different Akis, Bjorn, Jaco and Pako's techqniques are.

Well, I would recommend trying out both rotation directions, as I was surprised to find out that the direction that originally felt unnatural to me is actually faster.

I honestly don't know where my arm is when I do my best speed runs right now becuase I haven't done any videos of the new technique, but I grab the ball so that I pretty much engulf the whole ball with the counter toward my palm, so my grip feels as secure as possible, my arm goes where it wants!

I'd just say, experiment with different things, and find what works for you!

Strangely, the position that I can get my fastes speeds is with my arm extended straight up over my head. I think it uses slightly different muscles that way, and gravity seems to help as well. The bigger your muscles get, the faster you will be. I usually go for endurance, when I get my arm as "buff" as I am satisified with, then I will go for the speed record. Trying to break a record with a flabby arm is just going to "break" you.
I try to use the "counter" mode and get to 3000 every day. I used to have to switch hands a few times to do it, but now I can do it all with the same hand. I also like to "twist" my wrist clockwise to the limit and do the same thing, this excercises the forearm muscle groups VERY differently.

I try to use the "counter" mode and get to 3000 every day...now I can do it all with the same hand.Depending on how fast you do that, 300,000 revs with one hand is pretty good. I've tried to do 10 minutes non-stop hard Powerballing with one hand, (scored about 90,000 I think), but it killed my arm. Yet I can go for a couple of hours at 9,500 rpm as long as I change hands regularly.

What you said about changing your arm position to exercise different muscles is so true. I once held the Powerball up near my ear, with the counter into my palm and pointing my palm directly behind me, and I straight away got a very nice burn in my tricep. Seemed strange, with my arm really bent, but I just seemed to target that muscle really well.

I hear ya, Its amazing how much it can change with just little modifications. The wrist turn trick brings back the fimiliar "tired" feelings that my arm used to experience.

On the 3000 a day its not usually very fast. I'd guess about 6 or 7k or so. I persoanlly believe that endurance building (slower speeds for longer) will stregnthen your muscles in a superior way than fast speeds for shorter times. Although if you want show-off muscles, that would be the way to go.
Im a believer in 30 reps of 10 rather than 3 reps of 100.

Or, for muscles, use the Metal. I've been concentrating solely on it recently, and I've gained more muscles in the last few months than in the last few years of using the plastic! :)

Yah I would love to have a metal. When I had the money for one they wern't selling them for some reason. Now that they are there no way I could afford one right now, I would like to get one some day though.
