View Full Version : Washers really necessary?

Hi there,

I was wondering about the little washers at the ends of the axle. Are they really necessary? Adrena1in doesn't notice a difference when removed...

Maybe they're made to make the inner support band more durable (otherwise the axle may carve out the inner support ring)? I was thinking about the extra friction it generates. Will this affect the really high speeds?

Kind regards,
Dennis

They should always be included when putting your Powerball back together - especially with the newer models as they contribute to the overall balance and stability of the rotor.

Also, they prevent significant damage to the support ring from the rotor axle with improper use.

I think that they are also required to keep the rotor right in the middle of the powerball. Please note the tolerance if you remove them, you can move the rotor back and forth in the rotor support band.

well, I put it in quotes because it wasn't the way they taught me it in saving private ryan, but for the sake of the young eyes that read this site, I edited it.

I suppose F'ed would work too

Can Powerball provide spare washers?
I noticed my Techno making a clicking noise when it was moving in a certain direction. On opening it up, one of the square washers looked quite worn. Removed it, and trying running it. No clicking. But I do notice the ever so little amount of play now on the rotor.

If you do, whats the best way to order them.
