I have been using a 250z pro for several months now and I really love it. So me and my bro each got a neon for ourselves. They just arrived yesterday. While testing mine at low speeds, I noticed that it was making a slight vibrating noise that my 250hz pro had never made before. When it slows to a stop, if you watch it closely, the metal disk on the one side of the rotor kinda flops around. The other neon did the same thing. Im guessing that it is a conductor for the electricity to pass through and light the LEDs. But is it supposed to do that? BTW, the sound stops upwards of about 6-7k rpm.
Its not a big deal of course, and otherwise I and my bro are very happy with our powerballs. But I was just wondering, so your feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks.

i hav ea neon.. sometimes its makes that... but if i take it to 7000 +-
its stops and feels silky again =D
There was a thread a while back about this.
The vibration or 'humming' from your Powerball at this speed is a result of your rotor being suspended in 'mid air' on the axle track between the two sphere halves.
Not all Powerballs will produce this sound but it would apprear to result from some sort of resonance at that specific speed, and would not indicate a problem with the ball unless it continues to vibrate or rattle at higher speeds.
Regards
Enda

Yeah I had this with my new neon. At around 5000rpm it develops a terrible vibration which actually is that bad it's really trying to slow it down and feels wrong. I find I have to give it an extra push to get it above that stage. It's worse when you do the bicep exercise as you are not holding it perpendicular to the floor.
I get the noise with my old one at about this rpm ( a good sound) but this new one sounds completely different.
New support band coming in post. I'll let you know if this makes a difference.

By now, my red neon is totally trashed, I cant get it above 10.5k, and the blue one is going the same direction. I'll try and get replacements soon. The whole thing just vibrates a lot and is hard to accelerate.
