View Full Version : One arm 'bigger' than the other? HELP lol
Been using my powerball for a week or so and have mastered using it with my right, my default stronger hand, but using my left is very poor. I can't seem to spin it with out it 'slapping' and feeling very awkward. Anyone with any tips? Also Im very tempted to buy a metal, should I work on my left hand before buying one or will the metal aid me making my left arm stronger?
btw righty is 10k and left is 6k
Cheers lads (or lasses:confused:)

Hello: daveee1
I was just like you, the left hand is my weaker out of the two. But if you percivier you will eventually master it. Just keep using it :)
Try using the Powerball in an up/down motion rather than rotating your wrist which you should find allows a workout. You need to spin it up with your right and then transfer it over to your left, and the exact technique takes a little work but its pretty straightforward.
I injured my left arm a couple of years back and had difficulty maintaining grip (still do but not as bad) with the left, and after using this technique for a while was able to revert to 'rotation'.
Regards

My technique with either hand was rubbish at the start, and the Powerball would knock all over the place. When I try to tell people how to use it I suggest that they exaggerate the motion. Make big circles with your wrist or lower arm (or entire arm) until the Powerball is spinning smoothly and not knocking. Then gradually reduce the size of the circle and increase the speed.
The key I think is to;
a) Don't try and go too fast too soon, and
b) Persevere, as Tom says.
You'll get it. You'll probably be surprised and find your left hand speed will catch up and overtake your right...mine did.
you guyes are sooo helpful. honestly i wish every cool gadget i bought had after service like this

My advice would be the same as was previously posted. Perserverance is the key.
Along the lines of buying a metal; although I do not own one myself, from what I have heard on these forums and gyrotek, its probably not wise to buy one just yet. I guess you should wait until you are getting at least 11-12k scores.

Ok, ok. Just that a metal is maybe a too heavy a workout for some people. But i guess you dont HAVE to work out with it. :p
I just got a metal and like it a lot.
I can still get a much better workout with the pro still because I can keep it cranking and get a real burn. The metal takes more to get behind spinning it up.
I can get it going fairly fast, but can't keep it there very long.
Also I have to hold the Metal with more of a baseball grip, where the Pro I can just use my fingertips around the grip band.
