Hi, my neon powerball doesnt spin horizontally anymore (ever since I used to carpet start-up method then noticed my hand was unexplainably empty  ).
The yellow thing spins fine vertically when I start it up but when I try and spin it it wont move horizontally. I opened it up to see if it needed cleaning, did a bit of that and it improved a tiny bit, worked for a second or two occasionally but still not any better than that. Is there a way I can fix it or will I need to replace some parts (and if so which ones?)
Thanks.

If you hold the Powerball with the rotor pointing towards the floor, can you manually revolve the rotor around it's secondary axis? If it won't revolve at all then it sounds like the rotor support band, (the white bit that the rotor sits within), is getting jammed. It shouldn't be completely slick to move, but you should be able to turn it quite freely.
Take it apart again and make sure it's sat centrally before closing the casing again.
Is it definitely the original rotor support band, yes? Because I swapped out mine once for a "copy" product support band and that was too thick and didn't work.

Pointed towards the floor it spins ok, but upside down its very rough and wont turn easily and taking it apart I can see lots of dents in the top part of the outer casing. Its starting to work a little more regularly though, just not for longer than a couple of seconds.

Are the dents in the track that the axle of the rotor rolls along? These imply that the Powerball has been dropped. If it's dropped, the axle can come down hard on the inner surface, and dents it.
If they're really big dents then it might be worth investigating getting the casing sent back for a replacement. If they're not too deep then it is possible to gently scrape or sand them down to make for a smoother surface and quieter operation of the Powerball. (I've never done it with a geniuine Powerball, but I did it with another product and it did help.)
