View Full Version : Computer software to determine RPM from sound?

I would like to know if there's any good software that can determine the RPM of a spinning powerball by analyzing its sound recording. I can't find the specifically-made-for-powerball software mentioned in another thread (I forgot which). Instead, I used CoolEdit (a general-purpose sound editing program) to do FFT and find peaks manually.

I found that I could easily reach 9500rpm on my $5 powerball-knockoff, but its vibration at that rate was bone-shattering.

I haven't tried this yet (Jaaa):
