anyone have suggestions as to why the ball keeps slipping away? I fingers almost hit the Rotor and I get scared and have to move it up again..it may be the way I hold it, I grip it almost like A baseball.
Hi eatingcereal,
It may be that the PowerBall and/or your hands are too slippery. This could be solved by washing your hands with a bit of soap and water before you grab hold of the PowerBall. Additionally, you might give your PowerBall casing as well as the rubber grip band a good cleaning. This can easily be done by using a damp towel, or more rigorously by taking the PowerBall apart (see the instructions manual on this site in the FAQs), removing the counter and thoroughly clean the outer shells of the Powerball with a damp cloth and the rubber grip band with some water and soap used for the dishes. I'd not recommend cleaning the shell of the PowerBall with soap as it may make the inner track --along which the rotor runs-- slippery (and you'll bnever be able to reach those high scores after that).
Hope this helps. Kind regards,
Dennis

I was told by a moderator to wash the outer casing in warm soapy water. Is this incorrect?

You should use normal soap for it - just not liquid soap or other "cream" soaps as they will leave an oily residue on the tracks which will in turn hinder speeds.

It's a great idea to use dish washing soap (not sure how you call that in English). It will give you even more grip

Gripping like a base ball (for me) is a flimsily cupped hand, half covering the ball because I'm about to throw it, and I'd like it to leave my hand. I'd go for a more thumb heavy grip. It wont affect the grip on your palm either..

How about washing up liquid (the one you use for the dishes)? That's a liquid soap, but several people have said it gives improved grip. Also, I've read on various Powerball sites that the best way to clean the rubber grip band is to pop it in the next laundry wash. True or false?

Try using the powder for hands that body builders and athletes use. Helped me.
