Are there any grips which are considered to be illegal?
I've only had my Powerball for two days and I'm moderately impressed with my high score of 12416 rpm, but I use a different grip to anybody that I've seen in the videos.
Should I use the same grip as them, or am I ok to carry on as I am?
Please help.

you can grip it in any way... you can use gloves or some magnesia too if you want... i prefer not to though... btw, it would be really nice to see your videos or pictures, because i am interested what grip do you state as different

The only way I think it could be classed as "illegal" is if you were to use some sort of davice to assist in powering the Powerball. If you hold it in your hand(s) and use entirely your own body's muscles power then there's nothing wrong with that.

But yes, would be interested to know how you hold it. 12416 after 2 days is pretty bloomin' good! :-/

I use my thumb and middle finger to grip around the band and then close my other fingers in aswell.
Hope this is ok.

Seems like an Akis grip to me.
So nothing wrong with that.

it is good to follow the first powerballer in the world :) but i just can`t grip it that way :)

Im the same, I cant keep the Powerball going at all using that grip.

it seems i have smaller hands.. by the way 12416 its quite impresive for your short time with a powerball =O

I tried it a while back, when I wasn't making any improvements and wondered if a new grip might help. At first I simply couldn't do it, but as with all things a little perseverance and I was able to. Can't maintain a very clean and tight grip that way, but can score in the mid to high 12Ks, (where with my normal grip, counter to palm, I'm currently hitting around 13K.)

A mate of mine had the very same grip, only with the rotor pointing out from the curve made by his thumb and forefinger. His record was 12599, and it looked like a bad technique...he'd only been Powerballing a week or so as well.

ill stay with my old grip,
its like... hmm..... the rotor facing the ground while i hold it from the top(hte counter is facing my palm)

i might look into trying out this grip, as i've had a whole lotta issues with the normal way.

i actually find i can nearly beat my record holding the thing upsidedown (ball to palm), which considering it means my fingers are locked straight, is pretty hard to do.

ill see if this one helps ;p

I did wonder if you meant the rubber grip band. I don't think they can be purchased separately, (yet), but if you want to send me a private message with your address I could send you a spare rubber grip I have. It came off a cheap knock-off wrist ball thing I bought, which ended up in the bin. I kept the grip band, just in case.

I received my powerball today, and I've got 12538 after 6 hours :D
My wrist hurts really :D
lets broke the word record :D

Is it possible, harder to reach the same rpm with the techno, like the pro?
With a pro I reached the 12538, with the techno I reached 11***.

I have finally hit 14k again ( 14007) for the first time since i posted my record of 14037 months and months ago.

I seem to hit 13500 area with no problems but getting over that is hard work.

Im gonna try this new grip and see what wonders it does for me.

On a good day I'm hovering around the 13500 to 13700 region, and am hoping that a lucky spin is going to topple me over 14k. I was only saying to Jeremy Goldsmith the other day that there aren't any "verified" UK guys in the Top 100. There are a few there, but all before the video-evidence rule came about. Jeremy is the only one, and blasting his way up too...he'll be in the Top 10 in the next few weeks I expect!

Would be good to see a video from you too when you go over 14k again, and then hopefully I'll follow you over that boundary shortly. :p
