View Full Version : the powerball counter stopped working
Ok, here i go.
got my brand new neon red powerball the 20. may and was really satisfied with it.
but now... the timer stopped!
fortunitly i have found the solution at this website but i am norwegian and understand a lot of englis but what is a "vise"?
what shall i do to get the ball open and the batteries out of the counter?
can someone illustrate with pictures?
Edit: i bougth it from shg.no, is that one of your resellers?
Good morning,
You will not need to use the vise to remove the counter unit.
If you insert either your nail, or a small flat screwdriver into the slot at the 12/6 o clock position at the base of the counter unit you should be able to easily prise it off.
Once you have removed the counter if you turn it upside-down you will see the circuit board, and can remove the 6 small screws to reveal the batteries. Simply remove the batteries and replace them about 30 seconds later (observing the correct polarity (http://www.powerballs.com/counter.html)). This resets the counter unit, and in most cases will resolve the problem.
If it does not, please email liz@powerballs.com who will be able to assist you further.
Regards

i found a very easy way to open the powerball and you don`t need vise or strong hands or any other device. Take off the counter and the grip band. Then unscrew two small screws on the sides, then put the powerball on the floor on a hard surface and then slowly put your heel on it holding it with hand to adjust position, when your heel is firmly put on the powerball and powerball does not slip, release the ball with your hand and slowly lean on the powerball with your mass pressing heel against the powerball. Keep leaning with your mass till you hear the "pop" sound - here you go - it is opened.

shall the opening of the ball face the floor?
i am scared to make it wrong so can u take a picture?

Storken,
Please follow this (http://www.powerballs.com/faq.php?q=37) FAQ which should detail exactly the procedure for you. Don't worry about the ball itself - they are pretty resilient and will pop apart with the required force.
We are in the process of upgrading the FAQ section of our site and will shortly include images and videos showing the procedures for repairing your ball, but in the mean-time this should help.

the side where the grip band was should be facing the floor - that is why i said to adjust it with hand before you put pressure
