Powerball failing to maintain speed

A few weeks ago I noticed that my Powerball was seeming abnormally loud, so I decided to take it apart and have a look inside. I used the 'bash the Powerball with a dumbbell to crack it open' method.
Looking at the innards of my newly-opened Powerball I saw a couple of cracks in the rotor - I don't know if these cracks occurred as a result of someone dropping my Powerball at some point, or whether I was a bit too violent in getting it open.
Anyways, ever since I put the Powerball back together it has failed to maintain any speed when I try and start it up. It refuses to go any faster than about 1500rpm, before slowing down to a complete stop.

I'd be grateful for any light that anybody could shed on this situation. Reasons for why my 'ball is behaving like this, or solutions to the problem would be great.

Hi Daniel,

I'm sorry to hear of this difficulty with your Powerball.

Occasionally the rotor can crack - generally from the ball being dropped at some stage, which will affect its smooth operation in the way you have described.

Could you please email liz@powerballs.com about the rotor and she'll ensure that a replacement part is dispatched.

Hi BLiZZaRD,

Can you confirm if the ball is simply slowing down as you try to operate it, or if it sounds rough and has a consistent 'knocking' noise?

I would say that its a matter of not managing to get the right technique going BLiZZaRD...

How long have you got the Powerball? If its a new/recent purchase it may be that you haven't managed to get the right technique yet. If so, have a look at the 'Starting Powerball' video here which should help you a bit.
