    Target reference Alastair, you're too young to get the Karate Kid references.

    this is quite an interesting poll, looks like I am using the less favourite rotational direction for both my left and right hands

    LH --> Clockwise
    RH --> AnitClockwise

    I tend to spin my right hand clockwise then switch to my left also clockwise,whichever direction my right hand goes i try my left that direction too to prevent me from stop starting all the time.

    Post Hey, sorry this might be a bit of a mute point if someone has already answered it..

    Me, like Steven would expect Right -anticlockwise and left - clockwise, since that's what I think is the natural and stronger movement towards our bodies, and how I spin the ball. However, I found out that I spin right - clockwise when holding the ball only with my fingers and right -anticlockwise when I hold it with my whole hand. I haven't noticed this until now.

    This leaves me confused, what is reverse rotation? It seems that this whole time I've been reverse rotating the PB.

    If you powerball clockwise right, the ball is spinning so that the torgue is transferred along the arm towards your biceps at the point it is furthest from your body.
    This can be seen when you make an action as if you were to hit a tennis ball underarm across the court, you circle the wrist out clockwise then use the bicep to pull the motion of the racket back up to a neutral position.
    This is the place in the oscillation where the ball can gain the most energy from your arm, new powerballers (such as myself) will probably notice the ball actaully appearing to go faster in short bursts towards that part of the spin outermost from your body.
    If you spin it anti-clockwise in your RH then the point that your ball gains most energy is when its closest to your body, this involves using both the tricep and bicep muscles.. I think this may mean more experienced powerballers would prefer to use the latter technique as they have more balanced arm muscles than the average user

    If you disagree with any of this I'm only giving my viewpoint and I dont mind being wrong

    nope, agreed looks like a sound observation

    You can really feel how the bicep and tricep are worked differently depending on which direction you spin the ball.

    Good overall, but theres one thing I think you're off on. I spin it counter-clockwise RH, but I don't hold it close to my body like you said, and hardly anyone else does.
