a better and more transparent test

This is a response to http://powerballs.com/forum/showpost...2&postcount=13 but since the topic is changing, let's leave that one for the poll and poll-related discussion, and discuss unrelated stuff here.

And I've told you dozens of times that it was a cold spin when I wasn't on form at all, and wished I'd put well over 14k on that ball I sent you.

Come on, if that ball was capable of anything more than that, then surely you would have scored higher on your cold spin, don't you think so? Besides, after I matched your score, the ball lived exactly one session more during which it died its second and final death. I consider both as a very good indication that it was ball's speed limit.

But since you're saying you're the only one who agreed to test his skill, let's you and me do the opposite...you send me a ball which you can score, what, 13k on, and I'll see what I can do on it. Let me prove myself in the same way that you say you proved yourself. If you don't want to do this because you feel it's not a valid test, then surely that means me sending you my ball wasn't a valid test either...therefore, you achieving the same score as me is irrelevant!

You're being wry. I proved myself in the way you suggested, and while I recall you didn't provide anything other than your word, I sent you the sound of that attempt. So, in a way, back then I did a bit more proof than suggested by you.

That being said, if you want to talk about proving yourself in the same way as I did, that means doing what is being suggested. And my suggestion has long been as follows:

I provide a ball I span before (and got my effort on video if it matters), which is currently in Moscow, for a spin to someone who boasts much higher scores. Our 'Russian champion And' is a natural candidate. As a matter of fact, there are several higher-ranking folks in the scoreboard, one from Moscow, so if Gross-Snab is doing a responsible job, they must be convinced those records are real: http://powerball.ru/records/liga/best_rotate/

He can warm-up in any way he likes, take any doping if that's his practice, disassemble the ball if he suspects me of foul-playing by damaging the components in any manner or anything else if that makes sense.

I hope two attempts should be enough for him, and they would have to be videorecorded to check for counter errors and as a video evidence of our undertaking. Shouldn't be a problem at all for someone who's been running a youtube account with his powerballing home videos. I'll delegate the videorecording task to my rep, And is free to arrange his own recording if he wishes so.

On the other hand, if my word + recording of matching your score is still insufficient, I have no problem doing it once again, on a ball which is shown to be capable of certain speed by the same person during the same session. What sort of speed -- 13200 or 16732 rpm -- doesn't matter. In case of a really high score, I think many would be interested to take a look at the internals as well.

And just in case anyone doubts my 13k scoring ability and wants a proof, I have no problem doing so. Delegate someone with a ball and a camera to my place.

Come on Andy, send me a ball. If it's working well, and your top score is in the 13k to 13.5k region, then I will put over 1000rpm more on the counter, and if I fail, I'll send you your ball back and another of mine, for free. Why not eh? What have you got to lose apart from a few quid postage?

And a word of warning to bman and a few others: if you want to contribute, than I suggest contributing some meaningful content here, not the personal attacks you've recently restarted.

All I'm going to say is, your suggestions are unreasonable as far as I'm concerned. I'm not going to go out of my way to prove myself to you, (I've told you this many times, and you're welcome to think whatever reason you like for me doing this, but it's simply because I can't be bothered...end of discussion.)

You can come here and post your suggestions about And spinning your ball, but don't direct the discussion to the people on here. And is his own person and can do what he likes. He's not affiliated to RPM Sports or anything, I've never met him, I don't know him other than we exchanged a few emails a long time ago. If you want him to prove himself, well that's between you and him.

I will spin a ball if you send it to me, nothing more. This is the end of my involvement in this topic.

As a FINAL word on this:

- Record the best score you can on a standard, unmodified, "out-of-the-box" (all your words) Powerball.
- Place identifying marks on the Powerball (sign it with a marker if you wish and sign the rotor and counter - even the support-band, counter weight and washers if you wish so that there are no chances for making alterations to "your" ball.
- Send the Powerball to me.
- I will ask one or more spinners if they wish to accept it and record a score on it (using video evidence)
- They will return the Powerball to me and I will dispatch it to you along with the video.

This is the only option for now.

If you wish to do this you are more than welcome to do so and I will ask if people wish to give their time to satisfy your queries.

If not, there is nothing more I can do.

You have one opportunity to accept this Andy. If you do not, the matter is closed. There is no deviation from the above, either you accept or you do not.

If you refer to anything relating to "cheating", users having unfair advantages through "modifying the Powerball", lack of proof etc your account will be immediately banned.

Andy thank you for your warning but I need none as for the reference to personal attacks I have done nothing of the sort.

How ever I am willing to participate in the way Enda has suggested so send him a ball then once it gets to me and I will get a 14k5-15k on it

Inferiority complex? Interesting. Tell me one thing: do you agree to spin the same ball (I'd prefer both yours and mine) if we happen to meet some day, get it on video and report the results? Or is this too much for your lack of complexes?

And my score was submitted long time ago, check the scoreboard if you missed it. Same score as Tim, so as long as score is all that matters in your books, what you say about me refers to him just as well.

as long as you guys insist that everyone should take your home videos for face value, this is the best proof of my point I could get. Well, second-best to having a pleasure of seeing anyone of you do your best and the result of your effort when there's no room for tricks.

Good enough to come out and show what you can do? -- I'll be waiting. For me there's no problem at all with that.

I'm not going to pay to go to Russia just to spin my Powerball, but if I happen to ever need to go there... Next time you or your Rep is coming to England though, let me know in Advance...I'll meet up, but won't want to travel further than about London.
