Just bought a new powerball, it has a very slight vibration when running, is this normal? Also it is noisey up to about 5,000 rpm then goes quiet.

Yes - there is sometimes a 'bedding' in period where tiny imbalances, as a result of the materials used or the actual shipping of the product will cause such effects before the whole inner mechanism self stabilises.
