Default 2 ball simultaneous start, how does Akis do it?

    Hello Powerballers,
I have watched the video of Akis doing the thumb flick with both hands at the same time and want to know the technique. How does he do it?

    Anyone?

    Matthew.

I don't think I ever managed it with my left hand, but I can do it pretty much all the time with my right. I don't though, because just like bman I tried to do it for a Dual-Hand run once, and dropped one of the balls...my best ball at the time, and it got a dent on the track, so I never broke a record on it again.

Anyway, the secret isn't in getting a great thumb-flick...the secret is being very accurate with your wrist rotations right from the start. It's possibe to speed up a Powerball when it's only doing around 500 rpm, but it's not that easy. At about 1000 to 1500 (two-handed-start territory), it gets loads easier. You might want to practice allowing the Powerball to slow down loads before spinning it up again. Keep doing that, allowing it to slow more and more each time. This will train your technique for getting the Powerball spinning from very slow speeds, and will make one-hand starts a lot easier.

Lots of practice is my best guess.

    Default one hand start technique

This is my technique, first reach your rpm record moving the ball with your thumb with the help of your wrist, then with the cord try to start the powerball in lows rpm, then decrease the rpm more until you reach your record.
This is the video showing my technique:
