For that reason, whenever I Powerball, I keep myself in a constant state of utter pessimism.

I think its paramount to have the correct mindset when going for a new record, you can't be thinking that you have no chance of getting to the next boundary cause' thats just going to weight you down. I always make sure I'm not tired and am feeling energetic to optimize the 'hot mode' time I've got when i get into it.

I've often hit a record, or near to it, when I don't feel on form, that's for sure. When I DO feel on form and ready for records, I'm often disappointed. For that reason, whenever I Powerball, I keep myself in a constant state of utter pessimism.

I would say that I'm somewhat of a mixture between your two viewpoints. I will usually try to do like Pete said and optimistically focus on breaking a barrier, but sometimes a record will come when I seem to be in bad form that day and am the least expecting it! Then like Tim said, when you expect too much, you become dissapointed if it doesnt turn out the way you had hoped. So I'm leaning slightly more toward Adrena1in's viewpoint.

I think something like that is already a given - theres no way I can do well with distractions like that. For instance, Mom telling me to take out the garbage.

Yeah, definitely. Although you seem to be slightly more enthused than I have been... I just love watching your expressions as you attempt and then break a record.

Anger all the way. But never pesimism. I find a good record breaking session involves initially high, but progressivly lower scores, untill I return from a handwash with determination and fast ascent in scores. Then I'll reward myself with some custard creams and a glass of milk.

On some days i just stop powerballing because:

My scores are low because im tired or something and then im getting very angry!
Because im angry my scores are getting even lower.
The only solution for me in that situation is to put the powerball down and try it again after a dew hours or the next day
