Maplin Launches Spin to Win Competition...

Grr, I was hoping no one here would find out about this, that's the only way I'd stand a chance

I did go to the lakeside store on Sunday, but I'd missed the 'thing' that was going on the day before.

Something to note, the speed runs are done with a neon blue pro, and my neon scores are much lower than my regular scores (500-1000 rpm lower).

It gives me an excuse to pretend I've never seen a powerball before and then get the highest score they're ever seen, I never get tired of that.

My best score logged with maplin so far is 13,196 rpm (or something like that).

I'll be heading to Lakeside in the next week or 2.
DO you get to do as many spins as you like at Maplins or not Barry?
If it is just one attempt then i need make sure i get a nice warm up.
Cold runs I can get about 13,700ish.

That's why I didn't mention it here...I knew that if Jez or Tstering heard about it I wouldn't have a hope,

, (though I expect I could get through to the final in Telford).

Never know though, there might be many top spinners out there who've no idea about these forums.

Actually Tim at the moment I can only get upto around 14,600-14,700 so I reckon we would be very close to each other if we competed against each other at current.
Would be cool to have a competition like that against each other. I am certainly going to go qualify even if Jez does enter.

I did think that just entering to get to the final would be fun...a little like the tournament you tried to arrange.

As for speed, I've not done any proper Powerballing for about 2 months now, so I'd be very surprised to get over around 14300. Got a free morning on Sunday so perhaps I'll see what I can achieve, and then I'll try to get to a Maplin next week. (Competition qualification runs until early November doesn't it?)

(Now, if it was a 350Hz Metal competition...!)

Yeah early November is end of the entry. If you can do as many spins as you like I might go get an early entry in of around 13,700 and then just see if I am needed to do a better run to qualify.

I've heard from Southampton, my local, and they have no plans for a Spin to Win day. Never mind, I'll just have to travel further afield.
