Thread: Vibration

  1. #1

    Default Vibration

I do speed runs like that, I first speed it up with left hand and then switch quickly to right hand. But after I opened it and cleaned it, it starts to vibrate a lot when I get to the high speeds with left hand and if I switch the hand and speed it up more, it starts to vibrate more. And my scores are lower about 500 RPM when warmed up.

A vibration in the Powerball indicates cracked fins and/or a broken axle...it happens sometimes. Fill in a repairs form and RPM Sports will see what they can sort for you. (Link below)

Sorry, but what's a fin? Axle is rotor, right? And I don't have the lifetime warranty, I made a thread and someone said that I have to do something, but what?

The axle is the central part of the spinning rotor. It's made of metal. Around this rotor, on either side of the Powerball, will be four plastic fins, or vanes. (The Metal Powerball has a plastic insert with these 4 fins on it). Look at the picture below of the rotor. The cross-shape on the rotor, surrounding the axle...these are the fins.

These fins give extra strength to the whole plastic part of the rotor, and under extreme pressure these can sometimes crack. This can cause the end of the axle to become weak, and bend slightly. A bent axle will lead to a bad vibration.

If you don't have a www.powerballs.com Powerball then there's not much you can do really. But if you're getting a vibration then it's almost DEFinitely going to require the rotor to be replaced.

Ok, thanks. But then I can't have a new rotor from powerballs.com?

I opened my PB, and saw like a crack line on each fin, I don't know if that's the crack already , but anyone help me.

Ok, this is the best picture I could do. If you watch closely you can see it.

    Hi,
The vibrations are caused of the cracks on the fins.I've got the same with my Neon Green rotor.I think the solution is only replacenent.
