Well Done Alastair. I don't know how the grades switch over to GCSE from whatever you take in Scotland, but well done on the A.

I always have people telling me what a higher is (My family live in Scotland) and I think its after the GCSEs, in England we do AS for a year then A level for a year usually. Well they do their equivalent to GCSE (forgotten what it is) and then a higher takes a year because my cousin failed one in the first year so redid it the next year.

So, after reading my post, I think its basically an AS level

Edit: Just had a look at your profile which would suggest it is an AS level equivalent as youre 17!!
