Gripper keeps coming lose (the thing on the outside)

hey guys, haven't posted in AGES!! Today when I went over about 12,000, I noticed the ball moving in my hands... and saw that the grippy band on the outside (with the writing on) was sipping and almost crunching up as if I was bunching it together in some way. and when the band comes out of it's grooves, the ball almost flies out of my hand!!! Has anyone else experienced any problems like this?
Oh by the way, I always wipe it down after use and make sure I have completely clean i.e. non greasy/oily/slippy hands before use....

you did wash the rubber band right???
i dont really know what could be the problem

yeah yeah everything is clean, but it's almost as if the rubber band has lost some elasticity so that it it's not so tight any more.....

The grip band comes off the ball when I am spinning really fast

- how do I stop this?

Fault: The grip band has become stretched or oiled and slides up on the sphere once the rotor speed builds to a high level.
Solution: Wash the grip band in warm detergent based water.
Detailed Explanation: Using a Powerball over an extended period of time can result in the [otherwise tight] rubber grip band which runs around the spheres equator becoming loose and sloppy.
Whether this actually happens (or not!) is based on;
[LIST=1][*]How sweaty your hands are in general[*]How powerful your actual grip is[/LIST]If your hands are naturally clammy/sweaty then, over time, these body oils will penetrate the band and cause it to loosen its otherwise sticky grip on the surface of the sphere. If this does occur on your Powerball then the simple solution is to remove the band and put it into the clothes machine with the next wash or into a sink of hot water with some grease eating washing up liquid. You need to retrieve the nice, ‘sticky’ characteristic it had when new!
Likewise, if your general grip is poor (this will improve by using the Powerball by the way!) then you will find that the ball squirms and wriggles in your hand as the inertia builds, causing the grip band to slip upward or downward on the sphere.
Over time, this will serve to loosen the tightness of the band and it will become sloppy in its ability to fasten itself to the sphere’s surface.
Once again, a quick boil in the washing machine will return the band to its original tight state!

although i do not hold the grip band tightly as you do guys i belive you should wipe it down tightly to remove any greasy spots from the soap because the soap is oily too.. the grip band at that rpm gets lifted up for the most people i know that got into that speed (although i dont wash the ball anytime) i belive also that the ball shaked hard because you havnt hold it loosely so it wont bounce your hands like your shooting a gun or somthing.. if it happens when your ball rests i belive a)its high speed so it will cause some shaking untill it will get to 7k tops... b) your rotor could be damaged, you should check it out.

yeah giving the rubber band a good hot wash almost shrinks it slightly, so thats nice and tight now! and that is the other problem, my neon rotor fins have started to show sign of wear and 2 having very small hairline cracks - ordered a replacement so should be here within a few days.
