I'm struggling like mad with my Neon Blue Pro :S Almost manage to get it going but fall at the last hurdle. What kind of speeds are people getting up to with the finger flick before getting it going?

Can get a start with a flick of about 900-1000rpm.

yep......learned it in like the first 30 minutes of powerballing

it's great, saves time rolling the cord in and pulling it and hoping it won't get jammed or lost

I can do it easily enough now, but often use the string anyway.

Got the thumb start after 20 min after i read the instruction on this site...

Can do one handed start easily and somtimes i can start one in each hand simultansiously Got to work more on that

With one hand i can get it up too 1400 - 1500 and with thumb thecnique i can get it up to 1700, but to get it started i need around 1000...

Five years of powerball here and I've never managed to start it without the string.

I think I'd been using it for about 3 days before I taught myself how to start it without the cord. I start it with one hand now. That took a bit more practice.

I can start it with 2 hands. What I do is:

    1. Hold the PB in my right hand (exposed part facing upwards.
    2. Make sure that the groove/line is parallel to my shoulders.
    3. Use my left thumb to spin the ball from right to left. The spin is doing aroudn 750rpm.
    4. I start spinning the PB anti-clockwise (if looking from my elbow).

The thumb flick is quite difficult, and I haven't mastered it yet. It's hard for me to flick my thum quickly.
