I can't even start the thing!

I just bought a powerball and I can't make it work for the life of me. It just keeps stopping before it gets started. I'm getting so frustrated I feel like giving up. Any tips or suggestions welcomed!

Johnny, if you whip the string out, (assuming you're using the string), what sort of revs are you getting it to? (Put the counter in the third mode, with the lightning bolt symbol, and it'll show you the highest revs you achieve on each attempt.) Also, when you try to start it, just grip it tight and do nothing. As well as spinning about it's axle, does the rotor also revolve about its second axis?

Just keep practicing. It takes time for some, including me. Make sure the bottom of the rotor is facing straight up when you pull to string and make sure it's a firm controlled movement to avoid catching the end of the chord.

You'll get the hang of it. I did and I was getting really close to losing it at one point.
