    Default Cracked Again?

    Hi all,

I've been powerballing for about 6 months now i think and my scores started at about 10k and are recently in the high 12s.

A few months after i got it i had cracked all the rotor fins, but not by dropping it. So i got a replacement rotor.

Recently the vibrations have started again and from a quick peek inside i can see small cracks appearing again.

Is there something wrong with my technique, (i try to rotate it rather that rattle it at high speed) or something else?

    Thanks

I notice you use a neon powerball.
There has been plenty of people commenting on the neon rotors cracking, and it doesn't really seem to be down to how they are used.
I am sure that I heard one person talk about being on their 4th or 5th rotor in their neon.

Its best to be a smooth as possible, but it would seem that the neon rotors have a tenancy to crack anyway.
So its probably not your fault.

Ask the kind people here for a new rotor and all will be running smoothly again.

well I have had my Green neon for about 2 months and it's started to vibrate quite strongly in the last couple of days. I didn't actually check it for cracks until I read this thread, it reminded me to have a look, and sure enough all of the fins on the opposite side of the counter weight/magnet have thin, hairline cracks going through them. They all seem to orginate from the same spot, just at the top most corner of where the weights are attached and run inwards towards the center. This ball has also never been dropped so maybe the neons really are more likely to suffer from cracked rotor fins.

Hope RPM can get you a new rotor mate.

Saying that gilpi my signature rotor has started vibrating on many occasions yes but the 250Hz has too

But the amount of times i use my powerball it's expected really, but someone new to powerball wouldn't use it as much so they don't experience the faults with the neon making it a good choice for them. Also the neons are a right show off to your mates rather then the 250hz which you can't show off as much.

So i would rate the Neon and Pro models the same
