Got a nice 11 rpm improvement on the 250Hz right hand 12.697 > 12.708 After that I started with the metal and improved my left hand record by 226 rpm from 10.212 > 10.438. Also got around 5 scores between those two with the left hand. With the right hand metal I managed to get two scores above 11k, 11.1xx and 11.03x and around 5 10.9xx scores. I hope on the next session I will break my 11.194 record

Blimey, you should have carried on with that session. I find I can add around 1000 rpm to my "un-warmed-up" scores once I'm warmed up properly.

I find it a good way to test roughly how well I'm going to do in any session. I do a completely un-warmed-up speed run, and if it's within about 1000 of my record then I know I'll be on form.

I don't think thats a good idea really. Its like a 100 m sprinter before a race decides to run the length and see what time he gets when he hasn't warmed up, and he estimates he will do it a second faster when he's actually warmed up. But running straight away without a warm up probably going to tire or pull his muscles so he'll do even worse when he's warmed up.

For powerball if you do a speed run straight off doesn't it blister your hands really quickly? Because you are putting force on your hands when it's not used to it

It's only a single speed run, for maybe 1 or 2 seconds of effort.

But you're right to mention it though, I wouldn't suggest repeated speed runs without a proper warmup.

I just did a few runs to test my cleaned powerball. Normally I do a proper warmup before trying the real speed runs.

I'm the same as Tim yet again here (I seem to copy a lot of what he does). I often do a quick run from cold and in the same way as Tim, if i can get within about 900-1000rpm of my record i'm on for a hit.
I also want to be able to hit 14K ona cold run
Best first run i ever did was 13956, and that was before my current record.

Best first run I ever did was 13528 or so, and that was on the evening of my 14433. Usually I start on 12800 ish, sometimes a bit more. (The other night I struggled to get 12.1k, but that was a weird Powerball, as I managed 13.9k after I was warmed up.)

I often wondered about this notion of the improvement that occurs after the initial speed run and the difference in score after getting into a hot mode.

In my last last session, my initial cold run was 14600 something. Then, when I was warmed up I was over 15k most of time for the rest of the session. I did have the 2 runs that showed up as 15600 and 15700 on the Powerballalyzer, but unfortunately the Powerball counter didn't pick them up the same way. So in a way, I experienced about 1000 rpm improvement in that session too.

Next time I have a session, I'll write down my initial score in cold-mode and let you know how it goes.

That's a good way to gauge how you will do on the day of the session. Nice to see others have found this too.

    Always Powerballing,
