Well nothing amazing in the speed stakes. Infact an overall very average eveing. Speed was at best 14.7K+ and metal the odd 12K+.

I did get a very pleasing score on the ultimate score though.

Hmm, well an odd night for me.

Started on metal and got 12063 on 2nd run. Then did 90s metal and after that i couldnt beat 11.5K metal. No idea why i stuggle with metal.

Then picked up plastid, first run 14.5K then 14682 2nd run. I assume 14.8K would be easy tonight after those 2 run. Alas no. I did an ultimate run whcih was ok, but after that best speed i could do was 14.2K!!!!

On Bjorns advice i did a 30s run, and i hit 6735!!!! over 100 over my record. I couldnt believe it.

Then back to speed and did 1 run of 14K then all the rest under 14K.

So not really sure what was going on. Was really happy with the 30s and really unhappy with speed. Bit of an odd one really. But atlest some improvement.

    Wow very nice score.

I find now that 30s is very important to a session.

Grrr, you beat my 30s score last night by 20 rpm!

Next time you have a session with the Metal try this.

    1) Don't do a Metal strength run first. I've done 90s runs in the past and then not been able to do a good speed run afterwards because the rotor's been slipping a lot, much like what you had yesterday. Don't know why it does this though.

    2) Do several Plastic 30s runs of around 6500...13k rpm.

    3) Do about a dozen 13k speed runs with the Plastic.

(2 and 3 will get your arm into 13k speed mode.)

    4) After a little rest go with the Metal, BUT, don't try to accelerate it too quickly. The extra weight makes it resistant to bursts of speed I think, and if you try and wind it up too fast it'll resist and slip.

If I can do 13k Metal then you DEFinitely can too.

Ok Tim. I will try to do exactly that tonight.

I think my problem is my technique is very agressive and i force the ball to accelerate very rapidly. This is fine with the plastic, but as you've said, the metal does seem to 'slip'.

    I will see what happens.

Happens to be all the time. I'm guessing it has something to do with heat buildup/expanding.

Thats a pretty good sounding warmup there Tim, I wonder if it would work for me... except more on the 11.5-12k level.

Atlast some jot on the metal. Still not what i feel i should be getting, but certainly a nice step up.

Beat my old record by opver 200rpm

    New record of 12640.

Sadly i have no video or even camera at the moment so can't submit anything, but nice none the less.

Agreed...add another two lots of 200rpm and you'll be starting to get nearer your potential.

Oh, and I see you did 14738 at the Gyrotek Chat the other night...my record. You're definitely way more on form than me at the moment, and set to be £5000 richer in a few months hopefully!!
