    Default Speed differences between models?

    Hi Newbie here, be nice!

Have had my powerball for about 1 month now (bought it myself as an early xmas pressie. Best thing I've bought in ages)
I was unsure which model to go for, so did some research and opted for the blue neon 250hz pro, cos I like gadgets and the blue light had me mesmorized!

It goes to work with me everyday and has become the "department" toy. There are about 5 of us who compete daily to beat each other. Its what happens if you put blokes and a PB in the same room I guess!

We are all 20 something and 30 something year old blokes but our record (set by me!) is 12,196.

This leads me to my question - how much faster are the 250hz pro (non-neon) versions? We are all slightly embarrassed by the young teenagers who post saying that they achieved 12k on the first day and 14k after a week
Would we feel better with a 250hz pro, or should we just accept that we are all a bit weak?
And how can I convince them to buy their own blooming powerballs and stop wearing mine out?

Remember, we dont know for sure if all these people getting 14K are actually true as they dont have videos, Ive had it since Xmas and just got a new record of 11K, and no-one I know can get over 13K, even after using it since last summer!!

I think I did read somewhere else that the neon may not always be as quick as the standard 250 Hz Pro, but that was only marginal, ie only 100 or so

In laboratory conditions, a Neon will be around about one or two percent slower than a 250Hz Pro. This is because some of the energy from the spinning rotor goes into powering the LEDs. But as many people have proved, with continued use a Neon can really be just as fast as any other Powerball. Pako's 14965 was with a Neon. MJ's 13316 was too. Bjorn's done over 15000, and Akis has done over 15500.

Pick up a 250Hz Pro and, to start with, you'll probaby find it's slower, because it's not worn in yet.

As for pursuading your mates to get their own...stop taking yours into work, then they'll have withdrawal symptons and will end up ordering their own. I suggest you all pitch in and buy a package deal from RPM Sports, one Neon of each colour, a couple of 250Hz Pros and a Metal!!

Now that sounds like a great plan. Obviously I will keep the Metal as commission!
Thanks guys. So shouldn't be embarrased by barely scraping 12k then!

Shouldnt be embarrased about that atall. 12,000 is a good score. For every one person posting they've got 13,00 in a few days there are probably hundred on 10,000. People are understandably more keen to post when they are getting high scores. I know 4 people using powerballs who don't post here, they keep saying they'll post when they've got better scores.
