Using left hand is really hard...

My left hand is nowhere near as good as my right hand. Does anyone else find using their non-writing hand really hard? I can get up to a certain speed on my left hand but then I just seem unable to control it like I can with my right hand.

I think I should be getting much better scores with my left hand. Any advice for improving the technique?

Im naturally right handed, but I broke my finger just before xmas, which was when I got my 1st Powerball, so Ive been doing it on my left hand...I could only get 7K when I first started, but Ive just got up to 10479, so I think it is probably just down to practice, and improving your strength.

Mike22 is exactly right, the only way to improve your left hand is by practising. sure, the progression will be slower than in your right because you are use to doing tasks with it and it (usually) is the stronger of the two, however if you perservere (if thats how you spell it) than your scores will steadily improve until you have a consistant reliable technique.

Your left hand is probably stronger than you think, its just less coordinated than your right hand. But lots of practice will of course fix that.

Practice plain and simple. As it is badly co-ordinated and your right feels so good you will naturally just want to use your right hand. I am personally a major culprit of using my RH 75% of the time ratehr than splitting my efforts 50/50.
But as you practice with your LH it will become more co-ordinated. I can now get close to 13K LH but it still feels like it isn't natural or in control. Just stick with it and it will get closer to your RH score.

I find that my right and left hands are the same and both can get up to the same speeds (im right handed) and i feel that i can get higher speeds with my left. Athough i dont have the stamina in my left to have the pb spining for any longer to get it up higher, unlike my right.

im an odd one. i'm right handed for writing, and anythign usefull really. my left hand is just freakin useless. i'm right handed golfer, but left handed hockey player (puck handling hand being the right one so it makes sense).
starting the powerball without the string, i can pretty much only do it with my left hand.
i can get smoother motions and rotations with my left hand, but i'm faster with my right hand. the left is taking more abuse than the right where the skin just tore after one try to get the powerball as high as possible ( 10947 first day).
couldnt get any higher with the left hand.
only been at it for 2 days.

Tstering is right and l am a good example of this. Been powerballing for 5-6 months of which 5 of these were powerballing with my right hand. Don't get me wrong l used my left but never really concentrated on it. Decided 3 weeks ago to start practicing with my left and really worked hard at it. To my suprise left hand is now better than my right. Don't ask me why because l am not entirely sure why this happened, but it is really possible to get both hands up to the same speed. Practice Practice Practice!!!!

I was like Jez, (only far slower). For ages my left hand was quicker, but my right was stronger. Now my right hand is better in every way.

Hi, this is my first post but I just wanted to say I also find left hand very hard compared to my right (right-handed here).

When I first got my powerball 2 weeks ago I managed to break 12000 with my right but only got about 9800 with my left. Every time I tried with my left it felt totally out of control and like I was going to drop it any second if I pushed harder.

Today, I dropped my powerball and got the knocking sound and everything. Opened it up and sure enough, big dent in the upper half of the track. So I figured I'd follow the instructions in the Q/A and do a lot of 30s bursts at 10k+ rpm, but didn't bother to turn on the rpm counter (my PB was still the same 12000ish from day 1, and left was low 10.X00s)

After a while I noticed that the pitch was getting higher each time I switched hands for another burst, and when I started the counter I got 12188 first try with my right, new PB!

The very next try with my left I got 11319, new PB again! Then 11498! I Washed my hands and the ball; 12154! So now my records are virtually identical for right and left, but it STILL feels like I'm going to drop it any second when I spin it that fast with my left

I'm guessing I probably was just as strong with the left all along, just that as someone said above, no coordination to speak of compared to the right hand.

Oh and the knocking sound is almost gone, not completely but I can live with what's left.

Next goal: 12500 with both
