Keep your arm almost straight, and most hand positions will train the triceps. However, I also once found that rotating my right hand anti-clockwise, with my hand up near my right ear, palm facing my head, targetted my triceps nicely.Originally Posted by pk indrek

It depends which grip you use for pull-ups, but generally (most of the time) you will be working your biceps.
