Another Techno owner with "problems"

Just received the Techno for Christmas and after 2 days of playing with it my arm aches! However, I am yet to achieve any sort of read-out from the LEDs.

I can get the LEDs to light up, etc. but when ever I look for an RPM read-out I just get red lines whizzing round. I've tried holds of varying firmness and hanging it on the wrist strap but nothing. A bit disappointed by this and wish I'd gone for a Pro model with the digital readout.

As a rock climber I had hoped this would be a good training aid, and whilst I'm sure it still could be, without any indication of my speeds I think the interest could be lost fairly quickly.

My Sister bought it from Play so I'm not sure if Powerballs.com would still offer me their guarantee:

Hi Stormflex. Welcome to the wonderful world of Powerballs.

Firstly, I would ask you to persevere. The Techno is a tricky model, especially for beginners, but bear with it and you'll enjoy it.

The first LED will light up at something like 4000 rpm, and it will bounce up and down. At 6000 rpm it will stop bouncing. At 7000 rpm the second LED will ight up. If you keep speeding it up it'll take the third LED to light up befoe a score will be registered. The LEDs will flash. Allow the Techno to slow down then loosen your grip when only one LED is lit and the score will scroll across once the revs drop below 6000.

However, I've just had a play with mine. I got the first LED lit and kept it spinning at the same speed. Eventually a blue LED appeared, and stayed lit. This blue one usually means that the 30s counter is about to start, counting the number of revolutions in that 30 seconds. This is call Strength Mode. But I sped it up a bit more and the blue LED went out, and then the single red LED started to flash, indicating a score was registered. 6400. I've never got my Techno to register anything under 8000.

Stick with it and I hope to hear progression from you soon. Oh, and if you do decide you want a different one, I suggest you get another, but keep the Techno. I got rid of my first one because I didn't like it, but evertually wanted one again, so got a second!
