Default New technique, broke my record, didn't record :(

    Hey All,

I did it! I beat my record with a new awesome personal record of 16437! It felt amazing! I got the Powerball screaming! However, disasters of disasters, I did not hit the record button on my webcam and I was surprised when I found out that I had not recorded the session.

Here's a picture of the Powerball score:

    Also check my avatar.

I have been practicing last week, lingering around 141** to 142** all of last week, and then this morning I decided to change the way I Powerball. After watching the videos over and over for some the top Powerballers, I decided to get my other arm (the one without the Powerball) in extreme motion as well as my feet. This is what I noticed with some of the top scorers. I also did another in an effort to get a higher score. I turn wrist slightly from where I usually keep it to allow me to pulse my arm as quick as I could more horizontally than before, paying attention to the rythym of the Powerball, and as Dennis does, pull the arm with a later motion.

I did everything right one time and the score was 16437! Unfortunately, I had failed to get it caught on video. The run actually was after quite a few other runs, and after I did it, I tried few times to get "everything right" again, but I was getting tired. I know that since it is such a high score that I will have to provide video evidence for at 98% of the score or higher.

Although I have explained some of major parts of the technique here, there are things that I left out, but the good news is that I have some added confidence that soon 15K+ is going to be possible for me soon. I was actually down a little with a cough and cold today, but when I get better (tomorrow), I will get back on my goal with more ambition.

Next time I'll have the webcam recording!

    Always Powerballing,
    Duane Cash

Seems to say it all! :P
    Good luck with achieving 15K+.

Are you saying that you have beaten Akis' world record? If that is so, then that's amazing!

That seems almost unbelievable. Lets hope you can do it again and get a recording. That would be awesome.

The only way I can make sense of this is a typo? Congratulations on a new record though

Thanks, weee! Sorry it's not a typo. I inserted a picture of the score now in my original post, and I also have it as my avatar.

Yeah, excuse me if I'm a little skeptical. That's a massive 2187 on personal best, a little over 15% increase. That's a huge imrovement, even for a beginner, where the imrovement percentages can be quite high.
Pity you didn't manage to record it. Hope you can soon provide some evidence to support this rather tall story.
Oh and good luck with the 15K+. :P

Please teach us your "new" vibrating technique, so we can all add +2200rpm to our records!

Did you take some weird drugs to treat your cough?? Otherwise You must be really sure of your score to almost put yourself at the top of the world scoreboard like that...

I don't believe it as it seems impossible to score 16k+ without achieving a 15k just before or after.... :/

Your credibility is now at stake for the next days or weeks, hope you'll prove Im wrong to doubt your new score

Yeah, to put it into terms that people wanting to break the 13K can relate to. It's like someone who's PB is 12200, longing to break 12500, maybe even 13000 suddenly scoring 14072. Completely skipping the mid to high 12's AND totally skipping the whole 13K.
Like wow man, go dude. :P

It's not really all that new, just to me. Watch Akis and Bjorn carefully in their videos, every movement. They are already doing some of this vibrating technique to get the right number of pulses. Also watch Dennis, he's a natural for sure on the final arm movement, plus I think he will be hitting 15K+ soon.

I had some Robitussin earlier in the morning for the cough, but that's all. I also skipped lunch when I did the session. I'm as sure as I am sure for any of my other runs, yet for this run, I knew I did something good.

I know what you mean, Obiw4n. I was really shooting for 15K. I nearly did something similar in the beginning of my Powerball history when I stressed after getting 11964 over not be able to get over 12K, and then by the next week, I was at 13,390, and I wondered why 12K was really so hard. Now 14K+ is not as hard really.

I hope I can do something similar and record it soon, at least get some runs through the 15K range. According to rules, even if I had the 16437 on video, I would have still needed to provide another video with a starting score of 16108.

A similar thing happened when I got 12572 on the Metal Powerball. I didn't record it, but at least I had a video for 12334 previously. I will probably try to best my Metal score in the coming days, since I haven't really picked it up lately.
