weel, i guess it IS posible, but.... i guess you should create a very crative way to do it,something like, cover the rotor with some material that generates some static when it spins.. or something like that...
SO.. Yes, in my opinion it IS posible

    Hi HellMind,

That has already been done; you can charge batteries of little machines with the current generated (like a mobile phone or a small flash light). However, this website does not sell the device. Because of the policy on this forum, I cannot post addresses where you can purchase these things. Have a Google around using PowerBall (and related) queries and you will find one or two.

    Good luck!

Not the same thing at all I'm afraid Dennis.
    Know what you mean though.

    Hi Autolupus,

Really? --OK, you just found out I'm not a physicist but a mere Biologist -- So, what is the difference, then? Except for the fact that you can make little sparks and let your hair stand out with a Van de Graaff machine? (this name looks suspiciously Dutch to me, by the way). They're both based on the same principle, right? i.e. generating a current by a moving magnet.

    Kind regards,
    Dennis

No, one uses electro static/static electricity, the other uses a magnet to induce a current.

that's right, this machine isn't for batteries charge
    the uses are

    1 match, ignite something
    2 torture, people or animals
    3 hair raising

Well I think you're looking in the wrong place then really.

Plus torturing people or animals is sick, and shouldn't be mentioned even if you are only joking.

I knew you were joking, but it's still not funny because I've seen animal torture and those images stick with you, that's all.

Good luck with your project though.
