Can it be a fault in my counter?

I got my first PB-188C yesterday and have now got 17879 on left hand and 18464 on right hand. After reading the results on the scoreboard I find my results too high. Hearing the sound on Akis top results I am not to sure, as the tone seems very close! If my results can be OK I have to find a way to record a video with a new attemt, it should not be to difficult as I have got almost the same result about 5 times so far.

Maybe you were not in "speed mode" but rather on endurance mode i guess ...

The display had the lightning sign alternating with the high score clock.
I have reset both between my tests, just to be sure.
Running endurance on 30 sec gives around 9000 - I do not have stamina to run 60 or 90 sec endurance yet, beeing an old man

Hello and Welcome to the forum.
My friend, am afraid thats a faulty counter. if your endurance record in 30 seconds was 9000 rpm, that means you should be spinning the ball at an average speed of 18000rpm. which personally, i found Extremly difficult, or almost unposible.... or maybe you are a VERY gifted person. ^^
Any way, try this link so that way you can check the counter.
And if your powerball its a NSD powerball from this site, the guarantee should cover the counter.

If the scream your Powerball makes sounds similar to that in the video of Akis scoring 16317 rpm, then who knows. But obviously we would need to see video evidence before approving such a monumentously big score. (Akis was achieving the sorts of scores you're talking about with the prototype Screamer rotor for the Metal Powerball, but I seriously doubt anyone can go that fast with a 250Hz Powerball. But you never know.)

It would be really awesome if someone could actually pick up a powerball and on the first day, bust out these kind of scores, even more of a freak of nature than Akis! =)

I have reset now by taking out the electronics board and wait a min before mounting it again - I still get the high scores 17k 18k , but also burns my fingers on the rubberband. Must take a couple of days break from high speed. The heating seems to start above 15k - and the power needed to manipulate the ball is very high, it feels as a manual of 20kg! It is a NSD Powerball, bought in a shop in Oslo, Norway.

A video would be awesome. Also, if you could get hold of another powerball to see if you can do it on that one aswell then that would prove if your counter is faulty or not.
