Help Powerballing
Hey Guys ! Im loving the Powerball, it's awsome but i have some doubts i would like to clarify !
Im only 13(almost 14)
and i got my powerball at thursday(19/10/2006)
. Im using the powerball 20 minutes per day (once a day)
. It says in the box that i do not should use the Powerball for 14-, and I'm feelling some sort of pain everytime i "spin" my shoulder. Is that any problem if i use the powerball ?
My record is 8040 RPM and i only reached that once. Now i'm using the Powerball between the 3000 and 6000 RPM's. Is any problem about that ?
Bye everyone []
PS: I'm not english, so my language isnt so great but i think everyone will understand !

I don't think your top speed is a problem, 8k is really low and I don't think it's dangerous for you talking about your age.
Your pain comes more likely from a bad technique...
-
Really ? That's awsome. I will continue with my powerballing. Thx Obiw4n
And about my pain is that normal ?! Maybe my articulations are not used to the powerball

Take a break of a few days if the pain persists, that's really important!

Only 13 and you can speak English a lot better than this 35-year old can speak any other language!
But anyway, as long as you're sensible, Powerballs can be used by any age really. I've seen children as young as 6 or 7 using them. As Obiw4n says, it could be your technique which is causing the pain. But it also could be that 20 minutes at a time is just too much. Reduce this to more like 5 to 10 minutes, perhaps two or three times a day.
Also, concentrate on using your wrist more at first, keeping your upper arm relaxed and still. Get used to the motion. What you want to aim to do really is keep your entire arm almost completely still, just moving very slightly as the Powerball tries to release itself from your grip. At 4000 to 6000 rpm this will provide a good rehabilitation for your bad shoulder.

Thanks for both answers. Adrena1in, between the begining of the spin of the rotor and the 5000 rotations (i think) i only use my wrist, after that i begin to spin the entire arm. But i will do what you've said
PS: Thanks for the language praise

I think most people, when they get to top speed, lock their wrist and make the movement more from the elbow or the shoulder, but this should only really happen over about 12000 or 13000 revs.
You might find it useful to download and watch the videos from the scoreboards. I find them very useful, seeing the different styles and techniques.

Hi PKZe,
I agree with Adrena1in about the locking grip. Moreover, I start this pulsing phase at around 14k to squeeze out those extra few-hundred revs. Check out Akis' tips on this website.
Kind regards,
Dennis

Okay, I'll do those things.
You guys know something ?: My powerball just fell over
I'm sad. Now its doing some strangy noises. Hope it doesn't get mad

Ooh, try not to let that happen. You might notice a regular "knock" every time you rotate your wrist. If it's not too bad then just keep spinning and in time it should go away, but if it's bad then let me know.
