Unhappy What could the problem be?

Recently I haven't been having too many great runs with my powerball.

It's been hard to even get over 13,000 which wasnt a problem at all before.

Since this has been going on for a few weeks, I thought maybe I wasnt doing something right, or maybe simple because I lost my technique.

However, I just got back from a friends place and I now know that there is something wrong with my ball. I gave his a spin and got over 13K on every run. I hit 13,500 easily atleast 7-8 times.

Now i've opened mine up and dont see anything physically wrong with it, but I do notice a distinct "humming" noise at speeds above 11,000 or so. I don't know what the vibration is that people talk about, but my hands do feel like they have been "buzzed" after I go for a high score.

What could the problem be? Would getting a replacement rotor, support band, or both solve the problem?

Before I wasnt too worried because I thought I had simply "lost" the ability, but now i'm worried.

Hello Syed769, if you fill a vibration, and the powerball is not as smooth as the one that your friend haves, then it could be a damage rotor.
to check this, open your powerball and check the "edges" of the inside of the rotor, near the axles for cracks.
am not sure i fthis is a broken rotor, because the vibration that you should feel then the rotor is cracked its a big one.
    Hope it helps..
    Regards

I'll check again tomorrow and see what the problem is.

I don't understand what could have happened though. I've never dropped it and I've always held it firmly while using it.

    Damn, this sucks

Is doesn't require a drop for a Powerball rotor to start vibrating...it's happened to one of mine before. Starting vibrating occasionally, then it was happening half the time, now it's all the time. I've not checked for cracks or anything, but that's probably what it is...perhaps internal, out of sight.

Email repairs@powerballs.com, with a link to this thread, and I'm sure they'll sort a new rotor for you. Gotta get you back to speed, because you are well on your way to the Top 100.

I just spent 10 minutes analyzing the rotor and support band. I don't see anything visibly wrong with either of them. I thought I would find something because the vibration is so obvious, but there is nothing.

I think the most frustrating thing is that I was constantly improving and I thought I was going to hit 14,000 soon. Then I thought I had lost the ability and it somewhat took away my motivation to powerball as seriously as I was before. After using my friends and getting within 100 or 200 of my high score on several occasions yesterday, I'm thinking that i've lost a few weeks of time that I could have improved. Damn. I guess i'll have to sneak into his house and steal his....

Oh well, I don't really know what to do now, I guess i'll try the email

My ball is also started to vibrating a little sometime ago, but I still managed to do a record with it few days ago. Today it was slighty worse and I could clearly felt the buzzing, still got some 14102. Maybe with new ball I could easily get a new record.

Now it's so obvious to me that something is wrong.

Went over to my friends again, took my powerball with me

    I used his, got 13,600
    used mine, got 12,200
    used his, 13,500
    used mine 12,400
    used his, 13,400
    used mine, 12,000

I did all these runs one after the other within about 4-5 minutes. I'm getting over 13,000 every single time when I use his. I can't even get close to 13,000 with mine. This is frustrating...
