Will this help with a PRC wrist surgery?

I had a Proximal Row Carpectomy-the 1st three bones removed from wrist 30 days ago
The fingers are just now able to hold a ball barely
Wrist still moves very little
will this ball help in the coming months of physical therapy?

Eventually it should help.
I would've thought it would be unwise to do anything with a powerball for the first 6-12 weeks though.
