Default Dangerous Product or Freak Accident?!

Hi guys I recently received a 250Hz Powerball for christmas (A gift from my little sister, I work as a PT onboard a cruise ship) I enjoyed it massively up until yesterday. Yesterday my red cord apparently got attached to the gyroscope, in an effort to remove it I wrapped my little finger around the cord and gave it an almighty yank. 2 things happened, neither of them favourable, the resulting cut was about 3mm away from the bone, the friction burn around the cut ensures permanent scarring. To top it off the cord is still stuck in my powerball rendering it useless. Until this freak accident I would advise all of my guests to get a powerball. Id like to know if anyone else has had any similar problems (or knows of anyone who has). My email is <email address removed for privacy> drop me an email if you have any info or want to see the pictures!! x Phil

    Hi Phil

The cord can get stuck in the way you have experienced when the starting cord is either wrapped loosely around the rotor, or when the cord is pulled to the side rather than straight out when attempting to start the Powerball. I would encourage you to either view the Starting Powerball section on our online instructions or review the starting instructions provided on CD with all Powerballs to ensure that you are using the correct procedure at all times.

The process of removing the starting cord which is currently wrapped around the rotor is actually a very simple process if you follow theinstructions on our FAQ section here -(wrapping the cord around the finger and attempting to yank it with physical force as you have attempted to do here is, in fact opposite to the gentle process of winding the rotor backward described in the FAQ).

We are pleased that you were enjoying use of the product Phil and so to ensure that a cord jam doesn't occur again in the future, we would ask that you please ensure that you follow the instructions outlined above (the videos can also be tremendously useful in demonstrating the correct technique to new users who can't manage to keep the Powerball spinning) to ensure many years of happy Powerballing.

If you would prefer to return the Powerball to us for repair you are more than welcome to do so Phil - you can send it for my attention to RPM Sports, Nenagh Road, Thurles, Co Tipperary, Ireland. We'll get it fixed up for you and will return it to your preferred "port of call"!

    Regards
