    Default New Live Competition

    Hey guys here is a new thread for the live comp
    (original post by ronasor)
    Hi guys.
    If you have seen, GoUiDoS and I were working on an IRC channel which hosts events right now, first of all I would like to give him a HUGE credit for the bot and for the live competition settings.
    The room contains the trivia (which is new and can be started off anytime) and the Live Competition, which was the same as gyrotek chat.
    This is not the Gyrotek chat, its somthing that I came up with and setted up for the powerballs community so you can do almost everything there.
    If you would like to join in and participate, heres the instructions:
    First of all, get yourself a mIRC client or you can alternately use the mibbit site to log in, it will be automaticly if you will click this link;
    http://embed.mibbit.com/?server=irc....erverTab=false

    If it wont work use the Mibbit main site at : http://www.mibbit.com ;
    If both of them wont work try this: http://webchat.quakenet.org/?nick=&c...balls&prompt=1 (its the most likely to run but its not very comfortable to see, its your decision anyway.)
    If you choose to use the mIRC cilent you should do these things step by step:
    Get the mIRC client from the official site: www.mirc.com , or a specific script that you would like from: www.mircscripts.com.
    First, fill your details that it asks you and click Ok, next, you'll have a line which lets you write text in, type this line to connect to the server /server irc.quakenet.org -j #powerballs
    you can alternately use the step-by-step method by typing each command seperately, like this:
    /server irc.quakenet.org
    and after you have connected: /join #powerballs
    You can also change your nickname by /nick (name)

    Next, after you have joined in you will want to participate in one of these events, to do so, you'll need to type in the commands of it;
    you can type !help, to get the help message for the trivia bot, but the commands that you'll mostly need are

    For the trivia:
    !trivia (number or unlimited, if unlimited is chosen, please ensure you will stop it when you leave, so it wont spam the channel) !strivia - stops the trivia from asking questions,
    !hof - will let you see the hall of fame, which got your highscores in it.

    For the Live Competitions:
    You will need to wait untill Ill host an event, the next one will be hosted by the room operators settings, You should watch GoUiDoS site for any date updates (its listed there with all the details), Once it will start (check the thread for updates) you will have these commands to post your scores:
    !speed xxxxx - posts your speed score
    !30s xxxx - posts your 30s endurance score
    !90s xxxxx - same as above, 90s endurance mode
    !metalspeed xxxxx - posts your metal speed score
    !dual xxxxx - posts your dual speed run score
    !raptorspeed xxxxx - posts a lightweight metal (raptor) score

    And, to check the current scoreboard, you should:
    !top - current top 5 speed scores
    !top30 - top 5 30s endurance mode
    !top90 - top 5 90s endurance mode
    !topmetal - top 5 metal speed scores
    !topdual - the top 5 dual speed scores
    !topraptor - the top 5 raptor speed scores

    There are also extras such as:
    !meteo [town] - shows the forecast for your town
    !translate [code] [text] - translates specific text that you have typed in to another language that you have specified,
    with [code] = en|de,en|es,en|fr,en|it,en|pt,en|ja,en|ko,en|ru,de |en,de|fr,es|en,fr|en,fr|de,it|en,pt|en,ja|en,ko|e n,fr|es
    Ex : !translate en|fr to eat
    (translates "to eat" from english to french)
    !stats - brings up the room activity status, and your trivia personal
    scoring status, its also existing in this link:
    http://www.gouidos.fr/IRC-stats/Powerballs.html

    you can also check when the next competition is by doing
    !nextlive

    Also, I think people miss this part so:
    You should look at the topic and welcome message when entering the channel, it will let you know about the commands that you will need and some sort of useful stuff... just look at it at the top of the scrolling when you enter the channel.

    New Important Part: GoUiDoS has managed to set up a scoreboard site... here it is: http://www.gouidos.fr/powerballs/live.php
    (had to make this one bold as much as possible, its the most important part )

    Another update for the room ops:

    !help - will list all the available commands as an operator, it also has description with it to better understand what do what.

    If you have any more questions, dont be afraid to ask!
