Default new to powerball, need adivce....

i bought a signature powerball and can't get it to start. I don't know if it is just my lack of ability or if the powerball is broken. What i've noticed is that the ball spins fine, but nothing else moves. The ring holding the ball is very stiff. It will move but only if I stick my finger tip in the groove of the ball and push it. Is it supposed to be stiff like this?

I'm wondering if many of the difficulties people have getting powerballs to start are down to poorly manufactured devices.

mine was a little tough but you need to get your grove. Tip : make sure the lights flicker then at least you know your on your way to powering up, it took me a day to master it then you will be mashing it up with just your thumb! Good luck

    Hi Mart,

The attributes you have described are exactly as a Powerball should be.. the rotor spins in the support band (white ring) freely (in the 12-6 direction), but it will be a little more difficult to turn the whole rotor assembly around in the ring (in the 9-3 direction). The sit should be a little snug as the Powerball requires friction to operate and this is produced when the support ring (white ring) rotates on the shell track between the upper and lower shell halves.

It can take a little while to master the technique but as Alex said its worth persevering in the beginning as you will find that your Powerball will give a tremendous workout, offering an unparalleled smooth workout and most of all, you will derive immense enjoyment from your Powerball for years to come.

It would be worth-while looking at the "Starting your NSD PowerŽball" video on our Starting Powerball instructions as it should be of use to you in visualizing the technique required to keep the Powerball spinning.

    Regards

    Enda

Thanks to everyone who replied with advice and encouragement. I can start my power ball now!

I feel a bit daft for thinking there might have been something wrong with my power ball. However, if I have an excuse, it is that I am brand new to this. I just didn't know any better. This forum was brilliant. Without it I would have given up after a couple of hours. So thanks again to the forum users who take time to encourage and advise new guys in power balling!
