    Default Tendon injury

I have had my powerball (250 autostart) for a few weeks, to help with climbing strength when I can't get to a wall often.

I was at around 10k, so not too fast, and was having a quick go and there was a click in my hand which hurt quite a lot so I dropped the ball, and the doctor says I have damaged a tendon in my hand. I can't use one finger properly now, I am not sure how long it will take to get better, but I can no longer climb or do any strenous jobs, it hurts a lot if I catch my finger or move it in the wrong way.

Has anyone had an issue like this, or was I doing something wrong? I had only been using it about 20 seconds when it happened. I am not sure I want to use it again if it has the ability to damage my hand, I work in computers and it is hampering my job. I dont remember seeing any health warnings on the product.

    Thanks

This is very sad to hear. As in any sports warming is wise thing to do before speedruns.
    Get well soon!

What is the best way to warm up before speed runs? Just do slow rotations for a few minutes?

Yep, that works for me. Just remember to do it with different arm positions and rotation directions. My warm up's usually takes 10-15 minutes (30sec on each hand with 7-8000rpm).

OK thanks, I guess it was my fault then, I just pick it up occasionally and try to beat my score. I need to warm up properly...

Ok, you can not get any fast progression with occasional powerballing. Try to spin at least 30min at the time, few times a week, but not every day!
Remember also stretch your arms after and while you're doing your sessions.
